The scariest thing about being a parent is when your child gets sick. Just a cold and low-grade fever at a young age, especially for infants, can be an extremely nerve-racking experience. This fantastic piece of technology is accurate and recommended for home use and SO much more comfortable for baby; no more heart breaking rectal temperature taking, wiggling and screaming arm pit tries, inaccurate ear readings, or trying to explain to a child how to keep the thermometer under his/her tongue for a specific {LONG} amount of time.
Is it sad that I’m eager for the next sickness to spread through my house so I can use my new TemporalScanner more? I feel very comfortable with the fact that this product has been reviewed by health professionals who have listed the Exergen TemporalScanner as “trustworthly with extremely favorable results”.

Hello! I have had so much trouble with various thermometers. Our family has tried almost every kind that has been available. Have not tried this kind! I see that it measures the arterial temperature which is the same temperature as the blood flowing from the heart. This is supposed to be the best determinate of body temperature!
Please enter me in your wonderful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

This would be great for my new arrival in January. It’s my first and I would love a dependable thermometer. i like the fact that is seems very easy to use, and seems like a great thing to have!
September 28th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
oh my gosh, would this ever make my life easier! usually when i have one with a fever i have three with a fever and they HATE having their temps taken which always leads to very inaccurate readings. this would be such a sanity saver!
September 28th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
This would help out a lot!!! With a 3 year old that runs when she sees the thermometer to a wiggly 9 month old, I have my hands FULL!! This would help to get an accurate reading without all of the wrangling and wrestling!
September 28th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
This would be good for us since our daughter will not sit still and hates having her temperature taken. This seems like it would be alot easier. Great giveaway, thanks!
September 28th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
This is the easiest thermometer EVER!

Being able to take temperatures at night without having to wake up sleeping, sick kids would really make my life easier.
September 29th, 2008 at 12:07 am
This is so great. So many times I had to deal with inaccurate temperature readings and I was especially worried about the accuracy when it was the really high temperatures when I needed to consider going into the ER. This is so great because it is accurate and I would have the confidence that I am doing the best for my child.
September 29th, 2008 at 12:08 am
I think that taking his temperature while he sleeps is a HUGE deal. I don’t have to take off the jammies or try rectal (yuck).
September 29th, 2008 at 3:03 am
How could this product not make your life as a parent easier? What a great, reliable, easy to use product that can help parents in caring for their children. Can’t wait to go buy one!
September 29th, 2008 at 4:19 am
It more accurate than ear temperature and that is important to me.
It is also easy to use.

It is always a struggle with my son to get a good under-arm reading. He hates the feeling and does not sit still so then we have to go for the ‘other’ reading and he hates that as much as I do. This would make our next illness a little easier!
September 29th, 2008 at 7:09 am
No more struggles! Yay! My children hate thermometers. Even the four year old still can’t keep a thermometer under his tongue, and hates having it under his arm. This would be a lifesaver.
September 29th, 2008 at 8:04 am
I would love to win this. I never seem to get accurate readings with my boys…they squirm to much and all that adding/subtracting degrees is ridiculous. I would love to have an accurate, fast reading with this!
September 29th, 2008 at 8:14 am
Ahh. Great idea. It would be so nice to not have to wrestle my son. He has had multiple ear infections, so we are constantly checking his temperature. Somedays it is a two person job, and this would make my life much easier!
September 29th, 2008 at 8:36 am
I love that I won’t have to fight with baby to take his temperature!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:17 am
I would love this, my son loves to get into things and hates to sit still so this looks like it would work much better with a on the go child, plus it is more accurate than an ear thermometer, and what parent wants to use a rectal thermometer???
September 29th, 2008 at 9:27 am
With three kids and a fourth on the way this thermometer would definitely make our lives easier. I am constantly saying to my husband that we should get one, but it seems when ever we are out and see one we always say, “it is kind of expensive….we’ll get it another time.” Of course, we never do! We are always losing other ones, they fall in to cracks of drawers, find a way to hide at the bottom of the diaper bag, etc…. Not to mention, our kids scream whenever they see them. I am convinced this thermometer is the way to go. Our fourth will finally not be tortured as his siblings were!
September 29th, 2008 at 10:00 am
I first saw this the other day at the promt care in our town. I was amazed at this product. My daughter is very prone to ear infections and strep throat, to top it off she has alergies and asthma (a lot for a 2 year old) and a fever is the only way I know the difference between being sick or having an alergy attack (I love living in the midwest!). Thanks!
September 29th, 2008 at 10:10 am
This is a product that our mothers probably dreamed of!
Lucky for us we don’t have to dream! We’d I’ve one in our house!
There’d be less of a struggle and less crying!!

This looks like such a great themometer. I would love to give it a try. Being able to get an acurate temperature with out having to do so rectally would be wonderful for myself and my daughter. Please enter me in the drawing
September 29th, 2008 at 10:43 am
This would make my life a lot easier, because my little guy is QUITE the wiggle worm and it’s impossible to get an accurate reading! Thanks for the opportunity to win one.
September 29th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
This is possibly the best invention since sliced bread! It’s so hard to get an accurate temp on a wiggly kidlet!
I’d love to win this….ty
September 29th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
This sounds like a wonderful way to get a tempurature! I’d love to have one.
September 29th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
It makes life easier because you don’t have to wake your baby up to take their temperature!!
September 29th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I love that it’s non-invasive so that you can take the child/baby’s temperature without disturbing them!
September 29th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
This would make life easierbecause it scans the forehead!! I use an ear thermometer and it’s not easy! MY 16 month old hates that thing!!
September 29th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
This would make it so much easier to take their temp because it’s fast. They never want to sit there for 1 minute with their arm held down.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
wow this would make life so much easier! My 3 little boys will not sit still long, this would help.
September 30th, 2008 at 9:32 am
WOw this would make life so easier. You can take it the temp. @ anytime and not disturb them and get and accurate reading that would be so wonderful.
September 30th, 2008 at 10:43 am
It would be invaluable to be able to take a babies temp without disturbing that healing sleep and be assured that the temperature is accurate. I liked the explanation about ambient temperature.
September 30th, 2008 at 11:10 am
My son, like so many others, HATES getting his temperature taken and acts like you are killing him when you try to do so. This would be great because not only is it easier to use than the ear thermometers but is more accurate which keeps you from having to keep taking the temperature over and over until you get a consistent reading.
September 30th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
Well, we’re using the ear thermometer but I sometimes think it’s not accurate and the kids don’t really like it. I saw one of these for the first time at the pediatrician, and they are just so much easier and quicker to use. Thanks for the great giveaway!
September 30th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
I like its ease of use and the accuracy in taking the arterial temperature (more accurate than rectal temp).
Thanks!
September 30th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
We are expecting our first in Dec and would love something like this. It seems like it would be much easier to take a temperature this way rather than the rectal way!!
September 30th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
This would help so much with my squirmy 2-year-old because she sure doesn’t want to sit still to have her temp taken. I’m also having my second child in December and would love the ease of having this for both kids. Thanks!
September 30th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
wow this would come in handy i could realy use this no more guessing at my little ones temp thanks
September 30th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Both of my boys have had febrile seizure. My youngest not too long ago. Getting a quick and accurate temperature is crucial when he is sick. This would help so much in that area. Thanks for the great giveaway
September 30th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
What a great thermometer! I’ve been lucky so far that my little ones haven’t gotten too sick that I really needed to worry about them. Being that they are only 1 and 2, I know that using a normal thermometer would take way too long. This one seems like it wouldn’t make them uncomfortable and it would be quick-both very good qualities for little ones who already don’t feel good.
September 30th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Oh, I have always wanted one of these. My eldest won’t let me even put a thermometer in his armpit much less his mouth, and my twins still have to do it the baby-way so this would be SO GREAT! Thanks!
September 30th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
i would love to be able to take my sons temp without waking him up… or on the flip side, he wiggles so much when he is awake that it is nearly impossible to take his temp!
September 30th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
I’m about to have my first baby and currently don’t have any thermometer at all. This would really help me start my ‘necessary first aid’ kit. Thanks for the chance!
September 30th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
I never get a consistent reading with my ear thermometer, this would be so much easier!!
September 30th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
My son has had more ear infections than I care to count, and he is only 3 1/2. This thermometer sounds great for us considering that we need to take his temperature fairly often.
September 30th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Our baby squirms so much during temp-takings that we are often concerned that the reading isn’t accurate. The speed of this one (not to mention the more pleasant locale, but mostly, the speed) would give us great peace of mind.
September 30th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Its so nice not to have to call in the army to hold a child down long enough to take their temp!
September 30th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
My daughter would love me to take her temperature this way instead of the other way.
September 30th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Are you kidding?? It would make my life sooo much easier! I tend to not take my daugthers temp as much as I should because I hate sticking that thing in her little bum!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
September 30th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
When my kids are sick there miserable and don’t want to be bothered with having there temperature taken. This would make everything so much easier on me. Would be easy to read and take and no worrying about getting germs on it.
September 30th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
I love this. My doctor uses one and I’d love to have one at home. I like the temporal one it looks so easy to use.
September 30th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
anything to avoid the dreaded rectal temp is a good thing!
September 30th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
I don’t have a thermometer at all, my last one broke so this would be great to own!
September 30th, 2008 at 5:20 pm
My daughters both start to cry when I come at them with the ear thermometer so this would be a lifesaver! I would love to have just one stroke of the forehead be all it takes to take their temperature!
September 30th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
I am expecting my first any day now and have been a little confused about how to take temps - ear, arm, behind… This looks WAY easier! Thanks for the giveaway!
September 30th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
This would be great. Usually your mouth is dry and your coughing when you are sick anyway. Bypassing the mouth to take a temp would be wonderful. Thanks for the chance.
September 30th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
My little one runs very high fevers and frequently. This would save my poor guy from all of those rectal temps. Fingers crossed!
September 30th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
It adjusts for the ambient temperature! Less invasive and faster would sure make life easier for my little ones when they’re sick.
September 30th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
We could use this because, as they point out, my daughter HATES having something put into her ear. She squirms and if we take her temp three times in a row, we get three different numbers! This would take the guesswork out.

September 30th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Anything is better then the “bum” one we have.
September 30th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
I am ALWAYS asking my husband to feel my head…this would make it so much easier to take my own temperature the correct way.
September 30th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
It would hopefully make me less of a “bad guy” Mommy!!! and it looks so easy!
October 1st, 2008 at 2:29 am
my daughter hate having their temperature taken (either under their arm or in their mouth) so I might actually get an accurate temp when I take it if I won
October 1st, 2008 at 4:04 am
I try to use the least invasive measure of temp taking, under the arm pit. My daughter HATES it, but I would hate to take her temp rectally! So this would take seconds and be easy for us both!

I love that you could use this without waking a sleeping child! Fantastic!
Thanks,

I’d love to have this because it would make things so easy. My kids don’t like waiting for what seems like ages to have their temps. taken. And when they have stuffy noses, it’s hard for them to keep their mouths closed, because there’s no other way to breathe!
October 1st, 2008 at 1:35 pm
My daughter squirms and fights when I take her temp so this would be much easier.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:13 pm
What a neat product! This would be so helpful with a willful child who won’t allow you to take his temp. EVER.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:54 pm
I wouldn’t have to fight with my son to keep it in is mouth till the beeper went off.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:31 pm
The first time I had to take my daughter’s temperature was when she was about 4 months old and my husband was out of town. It was not a fun task to do that on my own, especially for the first time. With another one on the way, I love that you wouldn’t have to sterilize this to death between kids if they were both sick.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:37 pm
This would be a blessing!!! I can’t stand fighting my daughter to get an accurate reading. Thanks!
October 2nd, 2008 at 12:02 am
We just spent over a week with my son being sick. It turned out he had Roseola but when he was having high fevers we didn’t know. It was really scary. You can imagine how difficult taking his temperature was (fussy, irritable) and I wanted accuracy. What a great product
October 2nd, 2008 at 2:48 am
When kids are sick the last thing they want is to be poked, especially baby’s. This makes it so easy. What a great invention.
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:37 am
This would come in handy because it is such an ordeal to take my daughters temp. This is quick and painless for both mother and child!
October 2nd, 2008 at 11:09 am
This is by far going to simplify anyones life. We all know how horrible it is to get a thermometer stuck down our throat or in our ear so how awesome is it that there is a pain-free way to take a temperature. Great!
October 2nd, 2008 at 11:33 am
Gosh this is so gentle and easy. How lovely to make your child less fearful and yet be able to get an accurate reading.
October 2nd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
With 3 kids 3 and under, the selling point has to be that it’s not invasive, so there is less to fight over!
October 2nd, 2008 at 1:29 pm
what a relief that i’ll never have to use rectal thermometers ever again! this would surely relieve me of having to deal with fussy babies who hate having their temperature taken.
October 2nd, 2008 at 4:48 pm
i’m about to have my first baby, but i cannot imagine having to stick a thermometer into any of the baby’s openings. this would be great.
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:06 pm
My 4 year old hates having his temperature checked. This would save me from a huge struggle every time he gets sick. Unfortunately, he prone to croup, so we fight the fevers that go with it all winter long. Thanks for the giveaway!
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:19 pm
This would be so nice to get a quick read on a very cranky and sick baby!
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:34 am
I like the fact that the “Temporal artery temperature is not affected by the things that cause oral and underarm temperatures to be misleading.” It seems like it would be much quicker and less invasive as well. Thanks for the giveaway.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:51 pm
This would be GREAT! I hate taking my sons’ temps, and they hate it too. This would make things a lot easier! Thanks!
October 4th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
I have never been able to get a good temp read at home. I am definitely going to need to get one of these in time for the cold/flu season!
October 4th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
i hate taking temperature the old fashioned way and the worst part is not being able to get an exact read. this would make it so much easier for me!
October 5th, 2008 at 9:25 am
I have been using a digital ear thermometer but I always forget which ear to use (as you are supposed to use either the right or left all the time). Then I end up taking the temp multiple times and guessing which one is right–very confusing! This would be must simpler.
October 5th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
This would be so much easier and less invasive for all of my kids. The 40 seconds until the usual thermometer beeps seems like an eternity. Thanks for the giveaway!
