Bumkins Cloth Diapers

So, I have to admit, I was a little nervous about using cloth diapers.  As we all know, changing diapers isn’t the most pleasant experience and I was worried about leaking and washing and my baby being uncomfortable.  Well, waterproof Bumpkins Cloth Diapers rid me of all of my worries!

When I received the diapers, I was struck by the cuteness.  Disposable diapers do make an effort to be cute, but these really filled the bill.  The patterns on the diapers were adorable!  They’re also free of vinyl, PVC, phthalates and BPA.

I washed them before using them the 1st time and it was easy as pie.  When they dried, they were still super soft.  After using them, same thing.   Washing was not a problem and they were good as new!

When I first put them on my baby girl, I thought they may be too bulky and uncomfortable.  That was not the case!  They were just about the same size as her disposable diapers and even with little baby jeans on, she didn’t have to be self conscious about her butt looking too big!  (to be a baby!)  There was no leaking or anything and I actually forgot I was using the cloth diapers till it came time to change her and I got to see the adorable prints again!  And knowing that it was soft cotton next to her skin made both of us feel even better.

Knowing how great they are for the environment, if you’re on the fence about cloth diapers, or if you’re already a firm believer, try out Bumkins.  They make diapering a pleasure (well, almost…)

Jet Set Babies

HI EVERYONE! After a nice long vacation spent with our families and friends we are back in full swing! 2009 is already proving to be a fabulous year for BabyLuxe {daily}; so many fun, exciting, and of course luxe goodies to share!

Can I just tell you how much this next company saved my sanity over the Christmas break when my husband and I shoved our 3 boys into a rental “standard SUV” {which seriously is no bigger than a car but WAY cheaper than a “normal SUV”}, anyway, 700 miles one way…I know you’ve all done these trips before… with 5 people and all our luggage, there wasn’t room for one more item {I don’t know how we would have managed on a plane}. Where to put a week’s worth of diapers for 2 kids, formula, a portable high chair, 900 bibs, cans and cans of baby food, etc… WELL, I didn’t have to bring any of those items with me, they were already at my mother-in-laws house when I arrived…and no, she didn’t buy them all for me.

One stop shop, Jet Set Babies, was all we needed to save the space in our car and not have to worry about what we forgot! Home deliveries or hotel delivers, wherever you are going, Jet Set Babies can get those products you need on a daily basis for baby to your desired destination and they will be there waiting for you when you arrive.

Best part, they do not jack up the prices and there are no hidden fees. Jet Set Babies tracks your order from start to finish, personally calling your hotel to make sure your items arrive and where they will be when you arrive. When I placed my order in early December for our trip at the end of the month, their customer service department emailed me to confirm when I was traveling to make sure my package would arrive in NY while before we did.

From diapers and wipes, baby food and formula, to toys and bath products, bibs and laundry care; everything you could possibly need while away is available to be purchased at one place and carefully shipped to your tropical paradise or your snowy in-laws {wherever your next vacation may take you} it’s so worth it! Less hassle for driving and cheaper bag prices at the airport!

Platinum Babies Casting Call!

Counting down the days til the New Year! 2009 is gearing up to be a fabulous year for BabyLuxe {daily} and I hope for you all as well!

We have something to look forward to from the Women’s Entertainment network…Platinum Babies! From the producers of Platinum Weddings, Platinum Babies will introduce viewers to the next exciting chapter on the storybook road to the happily ever after-a world full of adorable babies and the Platinum parents who spare no expense on their soon-to-be delivered little bundles of joy. No luxury is too lavish and no expense is spared in ensuring these little ones have the very best of everything; from diamond encrusted pacifiers and Marie Antoinette themed baby showers, to Hermes diaper bags and custom nurseries by Petit Tresor.

I know some of you BabyLuxe {daily} readers would LOVE a chance at your own episode {or know friends or relatives who fit the bill of what these producers are looking for}, so here’s your chance; to be considered for your own episode, please email casting@filmgarden.net. Include: names, numbers, emails, due date, picture of parent(s), city and appx budget for maternity spending; a brief description of a few high-end elements that make you and your baby “Platinum”. Here’s a bit of what’s to come on Platinum Babies:

Platinum Babies will be there to witness the all-important and extravagant baby showers, such as one New York couple’s recent event held at the Waldorf Astoria and organized by party-planner-to-the-stars Mindy Weiss, with an indulgent gift registry that rivals that of A-list celebrities and includes such over-the-top items as an $88,000 R Class Mercedes Benz (so the nanny can have a suitable car to chauffeur the new baby) and a $2,225 sterling silver piggy bank from Tiffany.

But that’s just the tip of the platinum preparations. Of course, no new family is complete without a world class, elite, Cambridge-educated nanny (who comes with a whopping price tag of 200k a year). Let’s not forget our lucky little one’s education as our parents jockey for entrance into pre-schools so exclusive they have waiting lists of wealthy families and a price tag of close to $3000 a week. That’s not to mention the live-in chef who will help ensure our moms and babies eat only the very best.

Viewers will get a peek at babies’ rooms that might make the designers on Extreme Home Makeover lush. With the world at their fingertips, our pampering parents will call in the likes of Oprah’s personal designer, Nate Berkus, to make sure their little one’s nursery is nothing less than famously fabulous. With hand-carved cribs, 600-count Egyptian cotton linens (a full set of which cost more than most people’s bedroom sets) and truckloads of toys from FAO Schwartz, these nurseries are truly outfitted a little king or queen.

And finally, in each episode, we’ll meet the newest members of our fabulous families, the beautiful little babies that have inspired all these big platinum preparations. These little bundles of joy are born with the very best of everything, including parents willing to spare no expense to ensure they live a truly platinum life.

For the beautiful little babies, gushing new parents and proud parents-to-be on Platinum Babies, platinum is practically required and silver spoons simply won’t do. Let the fairytale begin!

Dreem {Discount}

For anyone who finds themselves newly pregnant for the second {or subsequent} time getting out old maternity clothes can be a big bummer.  Then when the baby is born you work hard to get back to your old size just to be disappointed again when you realize all your old clothes are just blah!  You are not alone in your wardrobe woes!  Brook Wall, the founder of Dreem, has been there done that and her line of Hot Mom and Maternity appearl is anything but blah.

For all of you mamas who love to know what celeb mommies are wearing {I am guilty of that} look no further.  Trista Sutter (from the Bachelorette) is a Dreem mommy.  “Brooke…OMG… I LOVE them!!!  They are my new fav’s!!!  I love how soft they are and they are super flattering.  Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”  (Trista Sutter) as seen in Life and Style Magazine and Extra!  Also Allison Sweeney (host of Biggest Loser and on Days of Our Lives) is also a big Dreem fan!  ADORABLE!!!  HILARIOUS!!!  I Love!  Seriously, these are fab!”  (Allison Sweeney)

If these great tees and all of their personality doesn’t convince you and their star power hasn’t compelled you yet then have I got the proverbial cherry on top.  For each tee that Dreem sells a tree will be planted in the buyers name.  What greater way to support Mother Earth than by supporting your right to be a hot mom {pregnant or not}!

All Babyluxe hotmoms/readers will be able to Shop Dreem with a 20% discount until January 1st with the code BABYL20.  Happy shopping everyone!

Sunday Stocking Stuffer (4th Edition)

The final installment of the Sunday Stocking Stuffer edition of Babyluxe is here!  With Christmas just a few days away now is the time to finish your last minute shopping.  Don’t worry, we’re here for you!

Keeping crayons orderly and organized is always a chore.  Funky Monkey’s crayon roll-ups will be the perfect gift for any child traveling this holiday season and for any parent who doesn’t want to crawl under one more icky restaurant table on a crayon search and recovery mission.

This year give your guests or hosts a custom confectionary surpirse from Gumdrop Cookies.  You can design your own cookie or choose from one of the many fabulous designs provided.  These cookies could easily become your family’s new holiday tradition.

For all of the self feeders in training Baby Human provides the perfect tool to shovel in all of that applesauce.  This gift not only allows baby some independence at the dinner table but mom may get some as well.

There is noting common about this great family game from Uncommon Goods.  Made for families with kids ages 3-6 this game keeps dinner rolling using only the utensils on the table.  What a great way to encourage creative thinking and vegetable eating all at the same time!

If you are going to indulge this holiday season, don’t waste your calories on boring old sugar cookies.  It would be so much more fun to fill up on one of Dylan’s Candy Bar chocolates.  Take you pick from all of the great gift baskets like this one!

Playskool

Here’s one of my favorite toy companies of all time! Hopefully Santa has many of these toys on his list for your good little boys and girls this year; OR if Santa’s little helpers are last minute shoppers and need some awesome kid friendly toys to pick up this weekend, here’s a bunch of new favorites from Playskool!

My kids’ all time favorite toy from Playskool for a couple years now has been the Busy Ball Popper…now there’s the Busy Ball-tivity Center. Babies love the sounds and “magic” of this jungle themed activity center. What I have always loved most about Playskool is how age appropriate their toys are. Busy Ball-tivity is for ages 9 months and up, and when they say up…even my 7 year has been caught playing with these!

Have you seen the Glide 2 Ride bikes yet?  How cool and duh, this should have been thought of a long time ago, it’s so perfect for the little ones to learn to ride by balancing and “gliding” the bike along.  They do that anyway but now without hitting their poor little feet on the training wheels!  So clever!

Okay girlie girls {whom you all know we are jealous of}, how about a little dress up with these snuggable Daisy dolls!  Buy separate outfits to attached to Dressy Daisy and presto, she’s now a chef or a tennis player!  Oh I miss the days of playing dress up with my dolls…

Playskool goes above and beyond every year with awesome new toys for every age group!  The classics are still brilliant so don’t forget about those; Tonka, Playdoh, TinkerToy, Mr. Potato Head, and so many more!  Fall in love with the newest ones too though; Clipo, Dance Cam, and Tonka Toddler…see below, love the Tonka Ride-Ons!  Again, my skinny little 7 year old is way above the age range but even he still rides on it!  Tonkas never seem to get old!

Hope Santa is good to your babies this year!  Happy Holidays!
